What We Believe:
About the Scriptures:
We believe the Bible to be the voices of many who have come before us, inspired by God to continue to speak to us today. God calls us to immerse ourselves in this authoritative narrative and to continue to faithfully live out that story today as we are led by the Spirit.
About God:
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
About Jesus:
We believe that Jesus Christ is God's only son who came to earth as a man to reveal God to man and to become the Savior of the lost world.
About the Holy Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God and is the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son (Jesus). The Holy Spirit draws us into relationship with Jesus, convicts us of our sins, and enables us to live righteous and faithful lives.
About Mankind:
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to be in relationship with Him but became alienated from Him through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his effort alone.
About Salvation:
We believe that the death of Jesus Christ provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, salvation occurs only when people place their faith in Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.
About the Church:
We believe that the church is the body of Christ in the world today. Christ is the head of the church. The members of the church are those who trust in the salvation that Christ offers. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to the lost world.
About the Christian Life:
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ.
About Eternity:
We believe that God created all of us to exist somewhere forever. Heaven is the perfect place. Because we are all imperfect, we can not earn our way into heaven. God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sins so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him. What you decide about Jesus will determine where you spend eternity. If you reject Him, you'll spend eternity separated from God in hell, a place of suffering and darkness. If you accept Him, You'll spend eternity with Him in Heaven, a place of eternal joy.
